Report on Area 6 Dressage To Music Qualifier 2014

The Area 6 Dressage To Music Qualifiers for the Riding Club National Championships and the London and South East Championships were held at Berkshire College of Agriculture on Sunday 20 July 2014.

Breakspear’s sole representative was Caroline Geary with her lovely grey Jay Court.

They had a very early start as they were scheduled to compete at 9.20 am.

The competition was run so that those competitors entering both qualifiers only rode one test.

Caroline and Jay were competing in the Novice No Points and their test was designed to a Tom Jones medley.

‘It’s Not Unusual’ was used for trot, ‘Help Yourself’ for canter and ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ for the walk. The music really suited Jay’s paces and the judge obviously also liked it.

The pair WON the London and South East qualifier and were a close 2nd in the National Qualifier. As a result they qualify for the L&SE Championship, but unfortunately only the winner goes to the Nationals.

They did not leave until 1.00 pm as it took some time for the results to be confirmed.

Caroline has said she was very proud of Jay’s performance and is now trying to qualify for the British Dressage Regional Championships at Novice Level.
