After a winter of incessant rain,
floods and high winds and gales the Area 6 Winter Team Dressage competition
took place at Snowball Farm on Saturday 22 February. There were concerns that
parking could prove problematic as all the cars, trailers and lorries have to
park on the field, but following a week of slightly better weather the ground
had dried out and although there was a tractor on stand-by it was not needed.
We entered a team, but had the
misfortune to lose one member due to a major mechanical failure to their
transport the previous afternoon and as a result could only field a team of
three.
Fortunately the competition is
based on the best 3 results. Danni Watt riding Rosgan Quin rode the Preliminary
Test and came 7th in her arena. Our other team members were Caroline
Geary with Jay Court and Helen Browne with Royal Legacy, who were unable to
place so highly. As a result the team
did not get placed, but we were pleased to be able to take part and thanks go
to those who competed for us.
It was a long day, the first test
being at 8.30 am and the last shortly before 5.00 pm. There were 32 teams plus
4 teams of juniors competing and the host Club High Wycombe were the eventual
winners. |
