The second dressage competition was held at Coltspring School of Riding, Chandlers Cross on 13 November 2011. This competition attracted more entries, although unfortunately there were two withdrawals overnight prior to the competition and a further competitor had to withdraw from two classes on arrival as her horse had pulled off a shoe in the trailer on the journey to the venue.
We had turned some late entries away as we only had one judge, so it is important to enter in advance so suitable judging arrangements can be made.
Again, we were blessed with fabulous weather, which was not typical of November, and all the competitors seemed happy. Chris Trigg made us very welcome, so many thanks to him. Thanks also go to Helen Fisher for her very positive judging and to Ros Peterson for writing and Diane MacBean for acting as steward.
We will aim to hold more competitions at Coltspring in February/March 2012 as it is felt that December and January are best avoided due to the likelihood of unpredictable weather conditions based on the past two winters!

The competition was the first to be held at Coltspring School of Riding in Sarratt. Chris Trigg and his partner made us feel very welcome and supplied teas and coffees. In spite of a cold and misty start the weather turned pleasant.
Some previous Club members attended, but we were disappointed with the overall turnout. Hopefully we will have more entries for the 13 November competition.

The last in this year’s Evening Dressage Series took place on the 14 July and once again we were fortunate to have dry weather. Compared with the May and June competitions, entries were poor, 8 ran and only 1 member entered. There were some late withdrawals. The Tests were Preliminary 10, Novice 30 and Elementary 44; they were judged by Jill Elstob, non member Caroline Geary very kindly wrote and Roz Peterson also helped.

The second competition in the summer series was held at Classic Dressage on the evening of Thursday 30 June 2011. Once again we had good entries, and were blessed with dry weather. A number of the competitors found they had extra impulsion during the warm up when there was the sound of an air gun in use in the wood adjacent to the indoor arena! We ran a mixed class comprising Preliminary 7, Novice 28 and Elementary 44 and we were fortunate to have the services of List 1 judge Judy Firmston Williams. 20 ran. The results are as follows:

The first of this year’s evening Dressage Competitions was held at Classic Dressage on Thursday 12 May.
Entries were good and the competition ran from 6.00 pm to about 8.30 pm; fortunately we had excellent weather, otherwise the judge would have needed headlights for the final competitors.
Our thanks go to Julie Matthews for judging and a former member, Gill Farrer for writing. Francis was taking photos during the evening and there is a link on our Web site to his where you can view the pictures.

Once again we were blessed with fine weather, although it was windy enough to test the temperament of the young horses who were competing!
The competition was judged by Amanda Brooksmith, who kindly brought her own writer. One competitor rode Intro A, whilst others rode Prelim 10, Novice 30 or Elementary 44.

Prizes in kind will be awarded to the first three combinations and will be presented at the proposed social evening to be arranged in the autumn at The Bell Inn, High Street, Bovingdon. The date will be notified to members in due course.
It is also proposed to run a series of Open Dressage competitions incorporating Chiltern and Thames Rider qualifiers during the winter months; probably at Caldecote Farm, Bushey. Entry fees will be drastically reduced. Further details will be posted on the Website and also e-mailed to members.

The second show of the 2010 summer series was held on midsummer’s day 24th June 2010 and once again we were blessed with a fantastic evening of warm and dry weather. Julie Matthews judged a mixed class of Preliminary 7, Novice 28 and Elementary 44. We had 14 entries but only 12 were able to run.

The first evening competition in this year's summer series was well supported with 18 entries and a wait list held - get your entries in early for June and July! The competition was run in glorious sunshine as a combined class (P4/N27/E44) with rosettes awarded on overall percentage. There was one withdrawal on the night as the participant could not be persuaded to come in from its lovely sunny field......

The February Dressage took place in spite of poor entries which were further decimated by lorry breakdowns horse and rider injuries and the prospect of stormy weather. This was the first competition of the winter as both the November and January fixtures had been cancelled due to flooding and snow respectively. This was the first event held at Caldecote Farm Bushey and it worked well. The results were as follows:
